Curious Conversations

So, I decided to contact our enigmatic admin, NotAnExtraterrestrial, several days ago. Instead of ruining the suspense with spoilers, I’ll just copy and paste the conversation here.

WordTechnician (7:34): Hi.

NotAnExtraterrestrial (7:41): Hello.

NotAnExtraterrestrial (7:42): Can I help you?

 WordTechnician (7:43): I was just curious about you. So is Ranguvar your real name?

NotAnExtraterrestrial (7:43): …Yes.

WordTechnician (7:44): That’s interesting. Did you realize my protagonist in my book has the same name? Is it a family name, or did your parents just pick it up from somewhere?

NotAnExtraterrestrial (7:46): No, I was unaware your protagonist has the same moniker. And this name has been in my family for decades. I was named after my grandmother, if I recall correctly.

WordTechnician (7:46): Oh.

WordTechnician (7:48): So…how do you know so much about this world called Eurothia? Again, this is a place in my book…did you read it and decide to flesh things out?

NotAnExtraterrestrial (7:49): If you’re the creator of this alternate universe, shouldn’t you know all the extra tid-bits and things? Excuse me if I’m incorrect in this assumption, but the way you asked seemed as though you don’t know much about your own world.

WordTechnician (7:49): No, this is my protagonist’s world. She tells me about it herself.

WordTechnician (7:50): Maybe you can, too. Really, it’s freaking me out a little bit how well-versed you seem to be about it.

NotAnExtraterrestrial (7:54): Interesting.

WordTechnician (7:54): What’s interesting?

NotAnExtraterrestrial (7:55): Nothing. Is there anything else you need to ask me?

WordTechnician (7:58): Not currently. Thanks, though.

NotAnExtraterrestrial (7:58): You are welcome.

 

This conversation left me with more questions than I care to admit. Could NotAnExtraterrestrial just be a hard-core fan, or something…else? If she were something else…well, actually that wouldn’t be useful for anything. Except for perhaps learning the more mysterious and unknown information about the Eurothian culture. It would also explain the online name…and the fake website…and…
